Job Summary:
Critical Care Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) position is available on the 2nd floor of a healthcare facility specializing in adult and geriatric patient care. This role involves providing specialized nursing care for patients with cardiovascular and respiratory conditions, including post-vascular, post-coronary artery bypass graft (CABG), cerebrovascular accident (CVA), respiratory failure, and heart failure. The schedule includes night shifts with an opportunity for a 36-hour weekly guarantee. The position is suitable for a team-oriented professional with a focus on compassionate patient care.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 1900-0700, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), valid Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neuro-Intensive Care Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification, 1 year of experience in critical care or stepdown nursing, location requirements, and valid nursing license.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with critical care stepdown or Progressive Care Unit (PCU), skills in managing cardiac drips, chest tubes, epidural pumps, and operating Meditech electronic health records.
  • Additional Information: This is a contract position intended to replace a contractor, with block scheduling and no call requirements. Equipment used includes Baxter infusion pumps and occasional epidural pumps. The unit has 31 beds with patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5.
