TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Canton, Ohio.
UNIT: 5 South Neurosurgery, General Surgery, Trauma Stepdown
ACTIVE OH/COMPACT LICENSE.
Certs Required: BLS.
Experience Required: 2 years. NG placement/care, Tube feeds/TPN, BiPap, Airvo.Wound vac care/ dressing changes. Strong neuro assessment. Manage drips including- amio, dobutamine, HBW, lasix, insulin. Chest tube management, and Drain care.

Floating to same care level PCU; notified at beginning of shift.
Will accept first time travelers.
Patient Ratios: 5:1.
Orientation: Day 1- 12 hours 7a-7p (first 4 hours-onboarding and education, second 8 hours on the floor orienting with nurse) Day 2- 12 hours on the floor orienting with a nurse (working their contracted shift) Day 3- Fist shift on their own.
Patient Types: Our patient population consists of elective neurosurgery, intracranial hemorrhage, DKA, altered mental status, sepsis, cancer and trauma patients.

EMR: Cerner
IV Pump: Alaris
Med dispensing: Omnicell
Monitors: Phillips
Unit specific equipment: Phillips tele & dynamaps, Arjo lifts
Scheduling:
Weekend rotation: Every 3rd weekend
On call? No
Holiday Expectations: Every other holiday
RTO: Approved at time of interview
shift times: 7p-7a, 7a-7p
Schedule cycle: 8-week increments, posted 2 weeks in advance
