Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) registered nurse position available in Overland Park, Kansas. The role involves providing specialized nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with complex needs in a hospital setting. This position is scheduled for night shifts starting on 08/31/2026, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid Missouri or Compact state nursing license; Certifications include ACLS, BLS, NIHSS; Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Progressive Care Unit or similar setting; Experience with charting systems such as Epic; Community hospital experience preferred.
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge nurse experience; Patient ratio experience; Ability to access/manage ports, manage blood products, interpret and manage dysrhythmias, and care for post-cardiac catheterization patients; Skills in neuro stepdown, telemetry monitoring, sheaths removal, and various special procedures.
- Additional Information: Floating to other units or facilities may be required between departments, units, and facilities as needed. Candidates will need to have both Kansas and Missouri or a valid compact license in hand at the time of submission. No local candidates within a 75-mile radius are accepted, except for Patient Care Technicians, Certified Nurse Assistants, and Medical Assistants. Max of 7 days of RTO permitted for the assignment, which must be finalized at time of submission. Compliance documents and modules are due before the start date, including EPIC training, infusion pump, and glucometer training.
