Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Nurse in a facility setting. This role involves providing specialized care to adult and geriatric patients with complex health conditions. The position requires a dedicated healthcare professional to deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment over the specified contract duration.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid Missouri or Compact License, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale). A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar healthcare setting is preferred.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with accessing/managing ports, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care and management, feeding tube care and management, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, neuro stepdown experience, Pre/Post Cardiac Catheterization experience, sheath removal, and unit monitoring using telemetry.
- Additional Information: Floating to other units or entities may be required. The role involves adherence to specific protocols related to stroke scale assessments and use of special equipment such as virtual nurses, 12-lead EKG, AirVo devices, and Omnicell systems. Candidates must be able to fulfill the requirement of 8 weekend shifts every six weeks and have the ability to float across departments and facilities as needed.
- Submittal Requirements: Must be willing to provide Kansas and Missouri or compact in-hand at the time of submission. No local candidates within 75 miles are accepted, and only certain roles such as Patient Care Technicians, Certified Nurse Assistants, and Medical Assistants are exempt from this rule. RTO requests are limited to a maximum of 7 days and must be finalized at the time of submission.
