Job Summary:
Step Down Unit registered nurses are needed to work in a hospital setting located in the area. The position involves caring for geriatric, orthopedics, post-procedural, and cardiac patients in a fast-paced acute care environment. Nurses will provide care to patients post-MI, post-cardiac cath, and post-CABG, with a focus on safe patient management and accurate interpretation of cardiac strips.
Job Details:
- Shift: 12-hour days, with a schedule published six weeks in advance, requiring flexibility.
- Schedule: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS.
- Experience: At least 2 years of clinical experience in a step down or comparable acute care unit.
- Unit Information: Care for geriatric and post-cardiac patients with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4 in PCU and 1:5-6 in MedSurg Tele.
- Required Skills: Ability to manage titratable drips, interpret cardiac strips, and perform cardiopulmonary assessments.
- Equipment: Use of CPAP, BiPAP, heated high-flow oxygen devices, and monitoring equipment.
- Orientation: 8 hours of general hospital orientation, plus 12 hours of specialized unit orientation at each campus.
- Additional: No call or standby responsibilities. Text message notifications for shift assignments, with scheduled weekend and holiday shifts included.
- Licensing: Valid license to submit application.
