Job Summary
Step Down Unit Registered Nurse (RN) Days Henderson. This position involves providing specialized care to patients requiring step-down or progressive monitoring within a fast-paced healthcare facility. The RN will deliver high-quality clinical care, perform assessments, and manage various therapeutic interventions in a dedicated care environment.

Job Details

  • Schedule: 12-hour days, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 11/02/2026 and ending on 01/31/2027.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid current compact license, American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS), American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS). Minimum of 2 years as an RN, including at least one solid year of step-down or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, and recent Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience, specifically with EPIC.
  • Preferred Qualifications: PIV insertion, stable home ventilator management, chest tube or indwelling drain management, Central Bidirectional Infusion (CBI), stable drips (Lasix, Protonix), blood product administration, continuous BiPap, drain management, and Neutropenic precautions.
  • Float: Float rotation to Deaconess Newburgh (IN) campus and Deaconess Gateway (IN) may be required with necessary notice, including intra-campus float shifts at the same facility.
  • Additional Information: This is a teaching hospital setting which may involve precepting students and new hires. The unit maintains excellent team retention, with a smaller, experienced, and collaborative nursing staff. Navy blue scrubs are required without competing health system or agency logos.
