Job Summary:
Cardiovascular Progressive Care (CVPC) Nurse in Asheville, North Carolina. This role involves providing advanced nursing care for patients undergoing cardiac and vascular surgeries, including open heart procedures, thoracic lung surgeries, and other critical cardiac interventions. The position requires a dedicated healthcare professional capable of managing a diverse patient population within a dynamic unit.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of experience, with certification in both Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS). Prior experience in stepdown units with telemetry monitoring, ideally with exposure to cardiovascular and vascular surgery patients, is required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with prior cardiovascular surgery (CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR, etc.) and vascular procedures (AAA repair, fem-pop bypass, thoracotomy, lobectomy) within the past year is preferred. Experience working in a Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) environment is also advantageous.
- Additional Information: This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating flexibility, teamwork, and a positive attitude. The unit primarily uses Cerner electronic medical records and is equipped with Baxter IV pumps, CADD epidural pumps, and various lifts. The role includes weekend shifts (minimum of six per six-week schedule) and is flexible with holiday coverage.
