Thrive Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Richmond, Virginia.

Registered Nurse (RN)

Unit Information

Join our Cardiac Telemetry Unit, which has a total of 25 beds and operates with a dedicated staffing model.

General Information

  • Location: Richmond, VA
  • Floor: 3
  • Building: Main Hospital

Staffing Details

  • Day Shift: 1 Charge RN, 6 RNs, 1 Unit Secretary, 2-3 Techs
  • Night Shift: 1 Charge RN, 6 RNs, 1 Tech
  • Patient Ratios: 4:1

Equipment and Technology

  • EKG Machines
  • Hoyer Lifts
  • LifePak Defibrillators

Electronic Medical Records (EMR)

Meditech

Typical Hiring Profile

Required Skills

  • Experience in telemetry and EKG reading
  • Able to manage a fast-paced environment with multiple admissions, discharges, and transfers

Preferred Skills

  • Prioritization of tasks and modification of patient care in response to changing conditions
  • Timely communication with physicians regarding patient condition changes

Typical Procedures

  • Patient Assessments (PD)
  • Electrocardiograms (EKGs)
  • Cardiac procedures are primarily conducted in the Cath Lab

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Team-oriented and collaborative
  • Positive attitude

Required Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

Additional Information

  • Low probability of floating to Med Surg units
  • Dress Code: Navy scrubs
  • Weekend commitment: Every 3rd Friday and Saturday night, along with additional shifts as needed during holiday periods

Experience Requirement

Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience preferred.
