Contract Details

• Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – PCU (Transitioning to ICU)
• Shift: 12-Hour Nights (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours: 36 hours/week
• Contract Length: 13 Weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week

Unit Information

• New unit opening February 3, 2026
• Starts as a High Acuity PCU
• Will transition to a Cardiac ICU by the end of 2026
• 10–12 beds

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of ICU or PCU experience
• CVICU experience preferred
• Beginning late September/early October 2026, 2 years of ICU-specific experience will be required
• First-time travelers accepted

• Cardiac Tamponade
• Shock
• STEMI/NSTEMI
• Post-Cardiac Catheterization
• Dysrhythmias & Arrhythmias
• Post Pacemaker/Ablation
• External & Temporary Pacemakers
• Post-CABG/Open Heart
• Heart Transplants
• Post-Vascular Surgery (AAA, Fem-Pop, EVAR)

Patient Ratios

• Initially 1:3–4
• After transition to ICU 1:2–3

Required Certifications

• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS

Required Skills

• General ICU & PCU nursing
• Swan-Ganz catheter experience
• Impella experience
• Wound care & dressing changes
• Defibrillation
• EKG interpretation
• Cardioversion
• Post-arrest care
• Manage & remove sheaths
• BiPAP/CPAP/High-Flow Oxygen
• Chest tubes
• Tracheostomy care
• Arterial lines
• IV drips (Pressors, Cardiac, Sedation)
• Fresh Open Heart patients (once unit becomes ICU)

Preferred Skills

• LVAD experience
• Post-Cardiac Transplant experience
• IABP experience (after ICU transition)
• No ECMO required
