Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN)

About the Position

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time position on the night shift. The successful candidate will provide high-quality care to patients in a stepdown unit, ensuring their safety and comfort.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to individuals in a stepdown unit.
• Monitor patient conditions and administer medications as prescribed.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Perform patient assessments and document findings appropriately.
• Educate patients and families regarding health management post-discharge.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities.
• Float to other like units based on facility needs.

Shift and Schedule

• Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week with weekend requirements every other weekend and holiday rotation.
• Guaranteed hours: The facility may call off one shift every two weeks.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
• SC nursing license or Compact license must be obtained prior to start.
• Certifications: Current ACLS and BLS certifications are required.
• NIHSS certification is preferred.
• Must be willing to float within scope to meet facility needs.

Additional Information

• Block schedule requests can be considered but are not guaranteed.
• Local candidates (within 60 miles) are not accepted for this position.
• Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season, which runs from June through November.
• Free parking is available for all staff.
