Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN)

About the Position

We are seeking a dedicated Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position is for night shifts, working 3x12s from 7 PM to 7 AM and includes a holiday rotation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality patient care in a stepdown unit.
  • Monitor and assess patients' conditions, ensuring timely interventions.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and hospital policies.
  • Float to similar units as needed, in accordance with facility requirements.

Shift and Scheduling

  • Shift: 3x12s, Nights (7 PM - 7 AM)
  • Weekend Requirement: Yes, every other weekend
  • Holiday Rotation: Yes
  • Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Stepdown or ICU setting.
  • License: Valid South Carolina (SC) license or Compact license required prior to start.
  • Certifications Required: ACLS and BLS.
  • Certifications Preferred: NIHSS.
  • Special Requirements: Must have prior ICU and/or Stepdown experience.

Additional Information

  • Local candidates are not accepted. A radius of 60 miles applies.
  • All requested time off (RTO) must be included at the time of submission for approval based on facility needs.
  • Open to accommodating block schedules upon request, but not guaranteed.
  • Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season, which runs from June through November.
  • Free parking available for staff.

Charting System

Utilizes Epic for electronic health records.
