Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN), Progressive Care Unit, Birmingham. The Registered Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care, completes patient assessments, develops and evaluates individualized care plans, and supports rehabilitation and discharge planning. The role also supervises ancillary nursing personnel and promotes patient safety, quality outcomes, and continuity of care.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required before the first shift; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required before the first shift; minimum of two years of post-graduate bedside clinical experience; stepdown, intensive care unit, or long-term acute care experience.
- Schedule: Night shifts consisting of 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Additional Information: Responsibilities include completing nursing assessments within eight hours of admission, developing individualized plans of care, documenting assessments and interventions, participating in interdisciplinary care conferences, providing direct patient care, initiating discharge planning and patient education, communicating changes in patient status, delegating and supervising ancillary nursing personnel, supporting patient and environmental safety, and assuming charge responsibilities following the orientation period as requested.
