Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Compact license in hand at submission, if applicable
• Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience
• Strong surgical telemetry experience, including open-heart and vascular patient care
• Epic charting experience is required
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Experience with telemetry interpretation and cardiac rhythm management
• Ability to care for patients with chest tubes, sternal precautions, and post-operative cardiac needs
• Travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers are not accepted
• Must be comfortable floating to similar units as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiac PCU patients recovering from open-heart, vascular, and cath lab procedures
• Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias to support safe, timely interventions
• Manage patients with myocardial infarction, arrhythmias, heart failure, and stroke with cardiac involvement
• Deliver post-operative care, including chest tube management, sternal precautions, and respiratory support
• Support medication administration and infusion management according to unit protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to promote positive patient outcomes
• Adapt quickly to changing patient needs in a busy, high-acuity hospital environment
• Float to like units when needed to help meet patient care demands
