RN – PCU (Neuro Tele)
Location: Lubbock, TX 79410
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) | Every other weekend required
Requirements:
- 2 years of RN experience (1 year minimum; first-time travelers accepted)
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required
- Any charting system accepted; Epic experience preferred
- PCU/Neuro Tele experience required
- Experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
- Experience with cardiac drips, heparin protocols, and vasoactive drips
- Experience with stroke, neurological, and neurosurgical patients preferred
- Patient ratio: 1:4
- Compact license must be in hand at submission
- Float between units and nearby sister facilities required
Description:
- Provide nursing care to patients in a fast-paced Neuro Tele/PCU unit.
- Monitor and manage patients with TIA, stroke, epilepsy, neurological disorders, and neurosurgical conditions.
- Care for patients undergoing procedures such as craniotomy, ACDF, TLIF, and XLIF.
- Perform cardiac monitoring, interpret dysrhythmias, and respond to emergencies using rapid response/code teams.
- Manage cardiac drips, including Cardene and Heparin, along with other cardiac and vasoactive drips as needed.
- Administer medications, blood products, and IV therapies.
- Manage central and peripheral lines and provide respiratory support, including oxygen administration and non-invasive airway management.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including PT, OT, Speech Therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy.
- Maintain isolation precautions and follow infection control protocols.
- Float between units as required.
