ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will excel in a high-acuity setting and possess extensive experience in managing complex patient conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to patients in an intermediate care unit.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry data, ensuring rapid response to dysrhythmias.
• Administer and manage vasoactive drips, including titration and monitoring.
• Utilize Rapid Response Teams effectively for patient care.
• Perform conscious sedation and manage blood product administration.
• Care for patients with arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, and other complex needs.
• Implement protocols for IV insulin, heparin, and manage tracheostomy and high flow nasal cannula patients.
• Ensure compliance with isolation precautions and maintain a safe patient environment.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience.
• Experience with arterial line management and titrating vasoactive drips.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH.
• Proficiency in telemetry, dysrhythmia management, and conscious sedation.
• Ability to float to a sister unit as needed.
• Must pass EKG Testing before the start of employment.

Scheduling and Availability

• Available shifts: 12-hour day shifts.
• Target patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:3-4.
• Weekend commitment: Every other weekend.
• Maximum allowable RTO: 7 days for auto offers.
• No block scheduling policy in effect.

Unit Environment

• Work in a fast-paced environment similar to an ICU.
• Patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics with various diagnoses.
• Special procedures may include managing one pressor drip per patient.
• Utilization of bedside telemetry monitors with remote backup.

Dress Code

Scrubs required are navy, white, or a combination of both.

Orientation

Hospital orientation week one; participation in daily classes is required.
