Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

The Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) will provide high-quality care to patients requiring monitoring and treatment in a progressive care unit. This role is essential in delivering patient-centered care while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.

Shift Information

• Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts
• Nights: 7 PM - 7 AM
• Holiday Rotation Required
• Weekend Requirement: Yes, every other weekend

Nursing Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patient health status, including vital signs and lab results.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Communicate with patients and their families regarding care plans and health education.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment following infection control policies.
• Document patient care accurately in the electronic health record (Epic).
• Float within the unit and to similar units as needed to meet facility needs.

Qualifications

• Active SC nursing license or Compact license required prior to start.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
• Certifications: ACLS and BLS required.
• NIHSS certification preferred.

Miscellaneous Information

• Local candidates (within 60 miles) are not accepted for this position.
• All requests for time off must be included upon submission and are subject to approval based on facility needs.
• Guaranteed hours: The facility is allowed to call off 1 shift per 2 weeks.
• Open to block schedule accommodation upon request, but not guaranteed.

Emergency Response Information

Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June through November), all employees may be assigned to emergency response teams. Please ensure that new assignments are not confirmed during this period.
