Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position available in a healthcare facility setting. This role involves providing specialized care for cardiac step-down patients, including heart catheter recovery, postoperative open-heart patients, and other cardiac/medical-surgical patients. The position starts on 11/16/2026 and runs through 02/15/2027, with a schedule of 36 hours per week on day shifts.
Job Details:
- Position Description: As a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit, the RN will cover a 12-hour shift (7 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.), typically working every 3rd weekend and covering one holiday, subject to change based on census and staffing needs. The RN may be asked to take occasional call days and may float to other units during low volumes or staffing crises.
- Required Qualifications: Valid RN license; BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification; a minimum of three (3) years cardiac step-down experience, including heart cath recovery, cardiac drips, post-op open-heart patients, and other cardiac/med-surg step-down patients. Experience with open-heart procedures and Epic EMR is required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience caring for ventilated patients in rare circumstances; comfort providing care to ventilated patients if needed.
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, starting 11/16/2026 and ending 02/15/2027.
- Additional Information: The facility reserves the right to cancel up to 36 hours per 13-week contract, which may include shifts not limited to 12 hours. All requested time off must be disclosed at submission and included in the confirmation to be honored.
