Job Summary
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) - Baltimore City, MD. This position involves delivering specialized nursing care to critically ill patients within a high acuity 20-bed IMC. The role requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans, monitor patient status using advanced medical equipment, and provide emotional support to patients and their families.
Job Details
- Position Description: Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. Monitor and assess critically ill patients continuously using advanced medical equipment (e.g., ventilators, cardiac monitors). Administer medications, fluids, and treatments accurately and timely according to physician orders. Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition and emergencies. Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of patient status, treatments, and nursing interventions. Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans. Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families. Follow strict infection control protocols to minimize risk of infection. Participate in continuing education and training to maintain clinical skills and stay current with IMC practices.
- Required Qualifications: Valid Nursys license, certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), 3 years of RN experience, current driver's license or state ID, valid professional certifications, completion of an Ascension profile, three professional references, and a current resume.
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week from 09/28/2026 to 12/27/2026.
