Job Summary
A Step Down Unit Registered Nurse (RN) position is available within a healthcare organization. This role involves providing patient care for a surgical telemetry population, including myocardial infarction, arrhythmias, post-surgical cardiac patients, and stroke patients with cardiac involvement. The position requires an adaptable, experienced nurse to provide high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details

  • Location: Not specified; open to candidates with at least 1 year of experience in step-down or telemetry nursing.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid state license (compact license preferred), at least 2 years of experience in cardiac telemetry, surgical tele, vascular (groin), radial band management, IV skills, NIHSS, ACLS, BLS, and Epic electronic health record experience.
  • Schedule: Nights shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 11/16/2026 and ending on 02/15/2027.
  • Additional Information: The role involves caring for adult and geriatric patients, managing complex cardiac cases, performing procedures such as chest tube care, CPAP/BiPAP, trach care, and managing cardiac drips without titration. Candidates must be flexible to float to similar units as needed, and be available to work every other weekend and at least three major holidays.
  • Certification: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required.
  • Responsibilities include blood product administration, dysrhythmia management, chest tube management, and post-op cardiac care, with experience in managing VADs, TAVRs, and structural heart support preferred.
  • Submission Requirements: Must include responses to the specified questions, two references covering one year within the last three years, and a valid license in hand at submission.
