Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position offers an opportunity to deliver high-quality patient care in a specialized setting. The RN is responsible for supervising licensed practical nurses, certified nursing assistants, and orientees, while coordinating patient assessments, treatments, and discharge planning. This role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and evidence-based nursing practices to ensure optimal patient outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) prior to start. Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience and ICU experience required. Experience in progressive care unit nursing preferred.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Additional certifications or specialized training related to acute care or critical care nursing are desirable.
  • Additional Information: Performs comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission, develops individualized care plans, and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams. Initiates discharge planning from day one and provides patient education. Ensures timely and accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, and responses. Delegates tasks appropriately and provides supervision to ancillary nursing personnel. Maintains safety and infection control standards, participates in team-building activities, and promotes a positive work environment. May assume charge nurse responsibilities following orientation and actively pursues ongoing professional development.
