Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (18:45–07:15) | Expected 36 hours/week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care on a mixed-acuity unit serving PCU and Med-Surg/Telemetry patients, with a target nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4–5
  • Manage and monitor patients presenting with COPD exacerbations, pneumonia, acute respiratory failure, chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, and telemetry needs
  • Perform IV starts and manage drips including Dopamine, Cardizem, and Heparin; care for chronic trach/vent patients with no more than one vent patient per nurse
  • Interpret and manage dysrhythmias utilizing telemetry monitoring; document using Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including a team lead, respiratory therapists, admission/discharge nurse, vascular access team, RRT, and behavioral health team
  • Float to like units as required; work every other weekend

Required Qualifications

  • Active NC RN license or valid Compact RN license (pending licensure acceptable at time of submission)
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • ACLS and BLS certifications required
  • Proficiency in IV starts, ventilator management, telemetry, and CPAP/BiPAP
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias
  • Must pass EKG testing prior to start
  • Local candidates (within 50 miles of the facility) are welcome to apply; a lower rate applies

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • NIHSS certification preferred
  • Experience caring for patients with COVID-19, influenza, or pulmonary embolism
  • Familiarity with Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR documentation systems
