  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,640 - $1,730
  • Hours Per Week: 36
  • Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
  • Schedule: 3x12-hour night shifts with every other weekend required
  • Orientation: 36 hours on unit
  • Scheduling: Self-scheduling based on unit needs
  • Floating: Candidates must be open to floating within or near the facility as needed
  • Patient Ratio: 4:1 on nights, with flexibility based on unit needs

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of recent Registered Nurse experience required
  • Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers are not accepted
  • Active RN license in North Carolina or compact state eligibility; pending may be accepted for submittal
  • Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Must pass EKG testing prior to start
  • Strong experience with telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, IV starts, and line care/management
  • Experience with non-invasive airway support and cardiac stepdown, PCU, or intermediate care preferred
  • Must be flexible, team-oriented, and comfortable in a high-acuity, fast-paced healthcare environment

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a Progressive Care Unit and intermediate care setting
  • Monitor patients requiring cardiac telemetry, frequent assessments, and close clinical observation
  • Care for patients with heart failure, acute coronary syndrome, post-procedure cardiac needs, respiratory concerns, and other complex medical-surgical conditions
  • Interpret rhythms, manage dysrhythmias, and respond quickly to changes in patient status
  • Support patients receiving oxygen therapy, BiPAP/CPAP, nebulizer treatments, and other advanced monitoring needs
  • Assist with pre- and post-procedure care, medication administration, wound care, and patient education
  • Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote safe, high-quality patient care
  • Participate in emergency response procedures as needed, including rapid response and code situations
  • Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and follow unit protocols, safety standards, and scheduling expectations
