Job Summary
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) Night Shift Facility Location
This position involves providing specialized patient care on a 24-bed progressive care, stepdown, and telemetry floor within a comprehensive stroke center and Level II Trauma facility. The RN is responsible for delivering complex clinical care, utilizing advanced skills in cardiac monitoring and emergency procedures, to adult and geriatric patients during night shifts.
Job Details
- Schedule: Nights, 3x12 hour shifts per week, minimum of 36 hours weekly
- Required Qualifications: Valid state or compact license, ACLS certification, BLS certification, NIHSS certification, 1 year of nursing experience, experience with blood product administration, central line care/management, interpretation of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, management of cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration), non-invasive airway management, peripheral line care/management, knowledge of rapid response and code team protocols, experience in PCU/IMC/Stepdown units, charting experience with Epic electronic medical record system, minimum of 1 year previous RN experience
- Preferred Qualifications: Certification in advanced cardiac life support or equivalent, experience with emergent cardioversion and special procedures like central line placement, familiarity with stroke and trauma patient care
- Additional Information: Position involves hands-on management of heart failure, stroke, sepsis, respiratory failure, renal failure, and diabetes. Special procedures include emergent cardioversion and central line placement. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. Orientation involves completing core items and modules onsite during the initial 24 hours.
