Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Nurse Location unspecified. This role involves providing specialized care to postoperative patients, including pediatric and adult populations, with a focus on high acuity cases in a large hospital setting. The position requires handling diverse surgical specialties and supporting critical care needs within a trauma level 1 facility.

Job Details

  • Certifications, Education, and Experience: Current ND Registered Nurse license, ACLS (American Heart Association), BLS (American Heart Association), PALS (American Heart Association); minimum of 2 years of PACU experience required.
  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, with the majority scheduled from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM, including occasional night shifts and varied weekends. Backup call is in rotation, with up to 2 weeknights per month and every 4th weekend.
  • Responsibilities: Caring for postoperative patients across all surgical specialties, including ICU, Cath Lab, Endoscopy, and Interventional Radiology patients post-procedures, utilizing EPIC charting, AcuDose Medication Dispensing, Phillips monitors, vents, and BiPap equipment.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required, with potential to work across different units or campuses for Phase I PACU.
  • Minimum Requirements: Must have acute hospital experience, be able to care for pediatric (average 5 to 15 children per day) and adult patients, and possess current licensure and certifications.
