Registered Nurse (RN) - Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) provides comprehensive care to patients and their families. This role emphasizes independent, collaborative, and delegated nursing functions in accordance with established standards and competencies specific to the PACU.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide holistic care across various age groups including neonates, infants, children, young adults, adults, and older adults.
  • Execute the Standards of Nursing Practice including assessment, nursing diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Develop and revise the patient's plan of care, coordinating care among interdisciplinary teams and delegating activities to appropriate care providers.
  • Participate in shared accountability and decision-making for nursing practices, promoting exceptional patient care.
  • Implement personal leadership qualities and skills to define and enhance practice standards and care environments.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of critical care experience (ICU/ED)
  • Previous PACU experience
  • Previous travel experience
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA or ARC)
  • Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms
  • Experience working with pediatric to geriatric patient populations
  • Trauma Level I experience

Shift Information:

  • Shifts include Days & Evenings: 0700-1530, 0900-1730, 1100-1930, 1500-2330
  • Weekend requirements: Every 3rd weekend
