Registered Nurse (RN) - Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

The Registered Staff Nurse (RN) provides holistic care to patients and their families within the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). This role focuses on independent, collaborative, and delegated nursing functions as defined by standards and competencies specific to the assigned service area. The RN is responsible for the care of patients across the life cycle, including neonates, infants, children, young adults, adults, and older adults.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive assessments of patients upon admission and throughout their stay.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care based on nursing diagnoses.
• Coordinate care among different disciplines and delegate appropriate tasks to other caregivers.
• Engage in shared decision-making and accountability for nursing practices within the unit.
• Continuously improve practice standards and the environment of care to enhance patient experiences.
• Participate in the implementation of leadership qualities to foster a supportive work environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of critical care experience (ICU/ED).
• Previous experience in a PACU setting.
• Documented travel nursing experience.
• Proficient in using Epic systems.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA or ARC).
• Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms effectively.
• Experience caring for patients across pediatric and geriatric populations.
• Experience in a Trauma Level I environment is required.

Schedule and Requirements

• Shifts available: 0700-1530, 0900-1730, 1100-1930, 1500-2330.
• Weekend requirements: Every 3rd Weekend.
• No on-call requirements.
