Job Description

Strong Memorial Hospital is seeking an experienced PACU Registered Nurse (RN) to provide specialized care to patients recovering from anesthesia and surgical procedures.

The PACU RN will monitor patients during the immediate postoperative period, assess recovery, manage pain and other symptoms, and collaborate with anesthesia and surgical teams.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients recovering from anesthesia.
• Perform comprehensive postoperative assessments.
• Monitor vital signs, airway, respiratory status, and level of consciousness.
• Manage postoperative pain, nausea, and other patient needs.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
• Identify and respond to changes in patient condition.
• Communicate with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and other care teams.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation.

Requirements

• Active RN license.
• PACU, critical care, perioperative, or related experience preferred.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.
• Strong assessment and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to work rotational shifts.
