PACU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled PACU Registered Nurse to join our team for a 36-hour position, working Monday through Thursday nights. This role is integral to providing high-quality post-anesthesia care, ensuring the safety and comfort of patients during their recovery phase.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and monitor patients recovering from anesthesia in the PACU.
  • Administer medications and perform necessary interventions as per protocols.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care.
  • Educate patients and families regarding post-operative care and potential complications.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments and care activities.

Qualifications

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of registered nursing experience.
  • At least 1 year of travel experience in a PACU setting.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in an academic medical center is required.
  • Current BLS certification is mandatory.

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
