Job Summary:
Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in a short-term acute care facility. The role involves providing specialized post-operative recovery care to adolescent, adult, pediatric, and geriatric patients. The PACU RN will float between units based on clinical needs, with a focus on pain management, airway assessment, and monitoring patient recovery post-anesthesia.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 10-hour shifts, minimum of 40 hours per week, starting on 09/28/2026 and ending on 12/28/2026
  • Required Qualifications: Requires valid state license; ACLS, BLS, PALS certifications; minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in PACU or ICU; experience with End-Tidal CO2 monitoring, airway assessment, arterial line management, pain management, and recovery from sedation and anesthesia; experience in ambulatory PACU preferred.
  • Previous charge experience and experience with charting systems (Epic or similar) are preferred.
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are necessary.
  • Special Procedures/Unit Details: Knowledge of ventilator management, central line care, blood product administration, cardiac arrest protocols, and recovery from various anesthesia types including conscious sedation and epidural.
  • Additional Information: Candidates must have a vehicle for the assignment. The position requires working up to 100 hours of on-call time over the contract period and availability for holiday shifts. Floating between units and facilities may be required based on clinical needs. All candidates should be flexible with schedule and willing to work in a fast-paced environment with interdisciplinary support.
