Description
HonorVet Technologies is seeking a travel nurse RN PACU - Post Anesthesia Care for a travel nursing job in Columbus, Ohio.
Job Description & Requirements
- Specialty: PACU - Post Anesthesia Care
- Discipline: RN
- Start Date: ASAP
- Duration: 13 weeks
- 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12 hours, nights
- Employment Type: Travel
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of RN/PACU experience
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required
- Previous travel experience is not required
- Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Must be comfortable caring for adult and geriatric patients
- Experience in a hospital/PACU setting required
- Must be able to work weekend and holiday coverage as scheduled
Unit Details
- Inpatient Phase I PACU
- Patient Ratio: 1:2
- Weekend Requirement: 1–2 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
- Orientation: 36 hours
- Charting: Any EMR experience accepted
- 20-bed PACU
Preferred PACU Skills
- Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition/management
- IV therapy and phlebotomy
- Blood product administration
- Central line care/management
- Respiratory care of ventilated patients
- IV vasopressors
- Pain assessment and management
- PCA pump management
- RASS scoring
- Malignant hyperthermia protocol
- Post-epidural management
- Spinal and nerve block recovery
- Conscious sedation, general, local and MAC anesthesia
Surgical Case Experience
Experience with a variety of surgical cases is preferred, including:
- Cardiac
- Bariatric
- ENT
- General
- GYN
- Neuro
- Ophthalmology
- Orthopedic
- Vascular
Vaccine Requirements
- COVID-19: Not required
- Flu: Required; medical exemptions only
