Job Summary:
The Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) nurse role is based in a 221-bed acute care facility and teaching hospital. This position involves providing direct clinical care to patients on a daily basis, with an emphasis on assessing, planning, and implementing patient care in the post-anesthesia setting. The PACU nurse will also supervise staff, ensure adherence to high-quality, safe practices, and support operational and clinical goals of the facility.

Job Details:

• Location: 221-bed acute care facility and teaching hospital
• Schedule: Days shift, 10 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid registered nurse (RN) license, with either PACU or Pre-Operative Nurse experience. Minimum of 0 years of clinical experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with postoperative patient management, strong supervisory skills, and familiarity with unit-specific procedures.
• Additional Information: The role involves responsible assessment, planning, and delivery of direct patient care on a shift basis. Supervisory duties include oversight of clinical staff to which care is delegated, ensuring high standards of patient safety and care quality. The PACU nurse is accountable to support the facility's Chief Nursing Officer in maintaining operational excellence, competency of staff, and resource optimization for patient care.
