Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced PACU RN for a Pre-Op/PACU position requiring 2+ years of experience and Epic charting proficiency.

Details

  • Pre-Op/PACU unit within a Level I Trauma teaching hospital
  • Cardiovascular surgical population including CABG, AAA repair, TAVR, EVAR, Fem-Pop/Fem-Tib-Peroneal Bypass, angiogram, pulmonary decortication, and ablation cases
  • 1:1 patient ratio
  • Day shift, 3x12 hours, 8:00 AM-8:30 PM
  • On-call required, including every third-fourth weekend

Requirements

  • Active OH or compact RN license required at time of consideration
  • BLS required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Pre/Post Op care experience required
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Level I Trauma and teaching hospital experience preferred
  • PACU experience preferred
  • Previous Charge RN experience preferred
  • Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • 2 professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or Supervisor and the second from a Charge RN; coworker references not accepted

Additional Information

  • Provide pre-operative and post-anesthesia care for cardiovascular and vascular surgical patients
  • Skills include cardiac monitoring, arterial and central line management, dysrhythmia recognition, airway assessment, chest tube management, ABG interpretation, and administration of cardiac and emergency medications
  • Experience with pre/post op procedures such as EKG/ECG, operative consent, pre-op assessment and education, and wound vac management
  • Locals accepted at the same rate
  • Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility
  • Current employees are ineligible for travel assignments at this health system
  • RTO must be submitted with application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
  • Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict credentialing timelines
