Registered Nurse (RN) - PACU

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our PACU team. The ideal candidate should possess strong ICU experience and a passion for providing compassionate care to patients in recovery.

Position Details

  • Contract Length: 12 weeks
  • Shifts: Rotating Day/Night, 3x12 hours (07:00-19:00 / 19:30-07:30), with a rotating schedule based on department needs
  • Weekend Work: 3 weekend shifts per 4-week cycle
  • Floating: Required within the specialty as needed
  • Holidays: Required as scheduled

Unit Overview

The Main PACU is a 28-bay unit that provides specialized peri-anesthesia care for patients of all ages and acuity levels, operating 24/7 throughout the year. Our team delivers vigilant pre and post-operative care to both inpatients and outpatients undergoing elective and emergency surgeries.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required
  • Strong ICU experience is essential
  • Current RN license in the state
  • ACLS and BLS certifications are required

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will be expected to:

  • Provide comprehensive pre and post-operative care to patients
  • Administer medications and therapies as prescribed
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and respond to changes in their condition
  • Perform airway management and care for ventilated patients
  • Titrate vasopressors and administer blood products as necessary
  • Ensure fluid resuscitation protocols are followed
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes

This position is based in a dynamic and fast-paced unit with a diverse patient population ranging from neonates to geriatrics. The role offers various clinical experiences suitable for lifelong learners.
