PACU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced PACU Registered Nurse to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality patient care in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) across a range of patient age groups, from pediatrics to geriatrics.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition post-surgery.
• Administer medications and manage intravenous lines.
• Conduct thorough assessments of post-operative patients.
• Provide specialized care for patients recovering from various surgical procedures including orthopedic, neurology, cardiothoracic, vascular, general, thoracic, urology, and gynecological surgeries.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Assist in the preparation of patients for discharge and provide education regarding post-operative care.
• Float between the PACU and pre-operative areas, as needed.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of PACU experience or 2 years of ICU experience required.
• Current RN license in the state of Maryland.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIH.
• Strong candidates with 3-5 years of experience will be considered for first-time travel assignments.

Work Schedule:

• Shift: 3x12 hours, Days (07:30 - 20:00).
• Participation in holiday rotations as scheduled.
• Two weekends per schedule cycle required.

Unit Details:

• Number of rooms/beds: 16.
• Patient-to-nurse ratio: 1:4.

Additional Information:

• Scrub color: Navy blue.
• Floating is required within the specialty and may include rotation with pre-op.
