PACU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) team. This position primarily entails providing high-quality care to patients in recovery from anesthesia, monitoring their vital signs, and assisting with pain management.

Job Details

• Shift: 3x12 Night Shifts (1900 - 0730)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Available Days: Sunday and Friday are required; No Saturdays

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients’ recovery from anesthesia, providing continuous assessment and evaluation.
• Administer medications and manage IV fluids as needed.
• Facilitate effective communication with interdisciplinary teams and families regarding patient status and care plans.
• Document patient care and progress in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Float to other critical care areas as required.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse licensure in the state.
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in a critical care or intensive care environment; first-time travelers with strong ICU experience will be considered.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple patient care needs.

Additional Information

• All requests for time off must be communicated at the time of the offer and should not include requests for more than one major and one minor holiday during the fall/winter season.
• Floating within the specialties, including to sister hospitals, may be required.
• Holidays are mandatory as scheduled.
