Job Summary:

PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in an acute care setting. This role involves providing high-quality post-anesthesia recovery care to patients of various ages, including pediatrics, adolescents, and adults. The position offers a dynamic environment with rotating day shifts, requiring flexibility within scheduled hours to meet clinical needs.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: This position is a days shift, with shifts varying between 07:00-15:30 (2x8) and 07:00-17:30 (2x10), totaling 36 hours per week. The hours of the PACU are 07:30-20:30, and the nurse could be scheduled at any time within these hours.
  • Required Qualifications: Active MD state license, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support).
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with charting systems such as Epic, previous community hospital or LTAC experience, trauma level I or II experience, and travel experience.
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS.
  • Skills: Accessing/managing ports, airway assessment, anticoagulation therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care, dysrhythmia recognition, emergency medications, intravenous insertions, medication reconciliation, NICU / pediatric cardiac monitoring, pain management, phase I PACU procedures, and more.
  • On-Call: Required; staff will take call three shifts within a four-week period, including weekends and holidays, with scheduled call times as specified.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required within the specialty, other units, and sister facilities within scope.
  • Start Date: 10/05/2026
  • End Date: 01/25/2027
