PACU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Illinois
• At least 1 year of recent RN experience in PACU, observation, medical-surgical, telemetry, or a comparable acute-care setting
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Strong patient assessment, prioritization, and clinical decision-making skills
• Ability to work night shifts, rotating weekends, and holidays as scheduled
• Applicants must reside outside the applicable 50-mile local radius

PACU RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult patients in an observation and medical-surgical/telemetry setting
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, monitor patient status, and promptly identify changes in condition
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established standards and provider orders
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to telemetry findings
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate patient care and discharge planning
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation while following hospital policies and patient-safety standards
