Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced PACU RN for a 13-week assignment requiring a compact or OK RN license and 2+ years of experience.

Details

  • Work in the Surgery Recovery Room (PACU) providing post-anesthesia care
  • Care for patients recovering from anesthesia following surgical and diagnostic procedures
  • Monitor patients during the immediate post-anesthesia period, managing pain and nausea and identifying complications
  • Day shift schedule from 08:00 to 17:00
  • 13-week assignment length

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Compact or OK state license required)
  • Current BLS certification (AHA)
  • ACLS certification typically required
  • 2+ years of nursing experience required
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program, BSN preferred
  • PACU, ICU, critical-care, ED, or perioperative experience preferred
  • Strong assessment, critical-thinking, communication, and emergency-response skills
  • Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
  • Full SSN, DOB, driver's license copy, skills checklist, and 2 references required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Implement and monitor patient care plans, communicating patient condition to the care team
  • Serve as primary coordinator across disciplines for well-coordinated patient care
  • Carry out physician and nursing orders and assess discharge planning needs
  • PALS certification and CPAN/CAPA credentials a plus, especially for pediatric patients
  • Experience with airway management and hemodynamic monitoring is beneficial
  • Radius rule applies, allowing local candidates at a reduced rate depending on facility location
  • First-time travelers may be considered depending on experience level
  • Discuss extension opportunities with management approximately 45 days before assignment end date
