• Position: PACU Registered Nurse / Post-Anesthesia Care Unit RN
• Location: Charlottesville, Virginia 22908
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Shifts Per Week: 3
• Schedule: Every other weekend and every other holiday
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,710 - $1,800
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Charting System: Epic
• Start Date: 10/12/2026

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least 2 years of experience in a PACU, peri-anesthesia, or similar pediatric surgical recovery setting
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required
• Epic experience required
• Experience in a Level I Trauma setting required
• Strong pediatric clinical judgment and comfort caring for infants, children, and adolescents
• Ability to support floating within scope of practice as needed
• BSN preferred
• Pending Virginia RN license accepted, provided it is in hand before the required deadline

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality peri-anesthesia nursing care for pediatric patients
• Monitor patients through Phase I and Phase II recovery in the PACU
• Perform ongoing assessments and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Manage pain, recovery needs, and discharge readiness
• Collaborate with anesthesia, surgery, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members
• Educate patients and families throughout the pre-op and post-op experience
• Support overnight observation and extended recovery needs in the Pediatric Surgical Observation Unit
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow unit protocols in Epic
