Job Summary
PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) Registered Nurse (RN) Location: Not Specified. This role involves providing high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals recovering from anesthesia and surgical procedures. The nurse will participate in preoperative assessments, education, surgical site verification, and respond effectively to patient emergencies within a dynamic interdisciplinary team.

Position Description:
Evaluate patients prior to surgery, provide patient and family education regarding the peri-operative process, and assume responsibility for patient preparation, including intravenous therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification. Participate in surgical site verification, including briefing, time out, debriefing, and universal protocols, in accordance with hospital policy. Recognize and respond to patient emergencies, ensuring the delivery of safe, evidence-based nursing care while engaging in continuous improvement initiatives. Assess patient condition, monitor throughout the shift, and document changes and care provided thoroughly. Educate patients and families/caregivers about medical conditions, treatments, and follow-up measures.
Required Qualifications:
Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS); Associate Degree in Nursing or higher (RN - Registered Nurse or APRN - Advanced Practice Registered Nurse); ability to work the specified shift schedule; valid licensure to practice as a nurse. Experience requirement: 0 years.
Schedule:
Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
