Staff Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Staff Registered Nurse to join our team. This position will involve assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individual patient care utilizing the nursing process. The Staff RN will also supervise and direct the care provided by co-workers, while ensuring adherence to established policies and guidelines.

Shift Information

This is a part-time position, with shifts scheduled from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, three times a week. Weekend call is required one day, either Saturday or Sunday, every 4.5 weeks, as well as night call on 4-5 occasions over a 6-week schedule.

Job Qualifications

  • Education: Completion of an accredited nursing program resulting in one of the following:
    • Diploma in Nursing
    • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Licensure/Certification: Valid license to practice in the State of Ohio. CPR certification is required.
  • Experience: Previous experience as a Registered Nurse is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to handle multiple priorities, and proficient in critical thinking and problem-solving.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for each patient based on the nursing process.
  • Provide quality care based on patient assessments and established care plans.
  • Educate patients and families from admission through the discharge process.
  • Document nursing processes accurately and legibly.
  • Notify physicians of significant observations and changes in patient status.
  • Administer medications and perform treatments safely and accurately.
  • Implement physician orders as prescribed.
  • Ensure availability of equipment and supplies for patient care; report any malfunctions as necessary.

Physical Capacity Demand

This position requires heavy work, including exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly for moving objects. Frequent patient handling activities are expected.

Job Considerations

The role demands psychological resilience, including the ability to manage stressful situations with calmness and empathy. The Staff RN will be expected to supervise and direct nursing assistants professionally and manage time efficiently, particularly when encountering patients in pain or distress.

Certification Requirements

  • ACLS certification
  • BLS/BCLS certification
