Description

Registered Nurse – Outpatient Surgery

Medical Recruitment Strategies is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to support Outpatient Surgery department with one of our facility in Santa Rosa CA. The RN will provide comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative care, including Pre-Op, PACU Phase I, and Phase II recovery for patients undergoing a variety of outpatient surgical procedures.

The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of RN experience and be comfortable working with adolescent, adult, pediatric, and geriatric patients. Experience in ambulatory surgery, PACU, pre/post-op care, procedural sedation, and outpatient surgical cases is highly preferred. Familiarity with Epic is also preferred.

Key responsibilities include performing pre-operative assessments, medication reconciliation, patient education, post-operative monitoring, pain management, discharge instructions, ECG/EKGs, and medication administration. The RN may care for patients undergoing general, orthopedic, urology, ophthalmology, ENT, GYN, GI, and other outpatient procedures.

The position operates Monday through Friday with no weekends, holidays, or call. Start times may vary between 6:00 AM and 8:30 AM depending on daily assignment, so schedule flexibility is required. Nurses assigned to PACU are expected to remain through the end of the day due to limited shift relief. The RN may also float to the Main PACU when needed.
