Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required; DC RN license must be in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience required
• At least 1 completed travel assignment required
• BLS certification required
• Experience supporting oncology nursing or nurse navigator workflows preferred
• Strong Cerner experience required
• Ability to manage patient care in an outpatient clinic environment with primarily adult oncology patients
• Flu vaccine required with no exemptions
• Must be comfortable with required compliance steps, including pre-start modules and timely onboarding tasks

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day clinical support for patients receiving radiation therapy in an outpatient oncology clinic
• Perform patient assessments, symptom review, and radiation toxicity monitoring
• Deliver patient education related to treatment, skincare, wound care, and self-management
• Support care coordination, appointment management, and phone triage
• Assist with chart preparation, disability forms, and pharmacy communication
• Start and maintain IVs as needed for adult patients
• Monitor for urgent concerns and escalate appropriately to the physician or emergency services when indicated
• Maintain accurate documentation in Cerner and contribute to a smooth, patient-centered clinic experience
