Description

Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN), Orthopedics – North Carolina

Start Date: September 20, 2026

Location: Asheville, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Rotating shifts available; every other weekend required. Day shift: 1:5-6 nurse-to-patient ratio. Night shift: 1:6-7 nurse-to-patient ratio.

Highlights:

  • 32-bed orthopedic unit within a nationally recognized, 815-bed hospital
  • EMR: Cerner
  • Collaborative team environment with dedicated support staff including PCTs, LPNs, and unit coordinators
  • Experience with post-operative orthopedic care, wound management, dressing changes, and wound vac maintenance
  • Equipment includes CPM, lifts (Sky, Sara, Maxi Move), bladder scanners, and mobility aids
  • Opportunity to float to other medical-surgical units as needed

Requirements:

  • Active and unrestricted North Carolina RN license required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Hospital experience strongly preferred
  • Orthopedic nursing experience preferred
  • Proficiency with procedures such as dressing changes, suture/staple removal, Foley catheter insertion, NG tubes, and wound vac management
