Orthopedic Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Orthopedic Registered Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in orthopedic and trauma nursing, with experience in pre-operative and post-operative care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for orthopedic patients, including those undergoing elective procedures and trauma cases.
• Utilize Safe Patient Handling equipment and orthopedic devices, including Continuous Passive Motion (CPM) machines, knee immobilizers, and bone foam.
• Collaborate with Rapid Response Teams to ensure timely patient interventions.
• Manage a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6, with potential for extension to 1:7 in high-demand situations.
• Administer medications and monitor vital signs per established protocols.
• Document patient interactions using the EPIC electronic health record system.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an orthopedic setting.
• BLS certification is required; ACLS certification is preferred.
• Experience with total hip, knee, and shoulder replacements and repairs, as well as orthopedic trauma scenarios.
• Proven ability to provide excellent patient care and communicate effectively with team members and patients.
• No first-time travelers will be considered for this position.

Schedule

This position is for three 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, every other week, with a requirement for one holiday and one evening shift during the holiday period.
