This fast-paced, specialized unit focuses on orthopedic injury, neurological conditions including stroke and head injuries, and traumas. The RN will provide high-quality care within a 36-bed unit featuring private rooms, utilizing modern communication tools and technology to enhance patient care and team collaboration.

Job Details

  • Position Description: Medical Surgical Orthopedic Floor RN providing care for a variety of orthopedic, neurological, and trauma patients.
  • Required Qualifications: Kansas License, BLS certification, 1 year of acute care hospital experience on Med/Surg or Tele type units, and relevant certifications.
  • Schedule: Nights shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week, from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM.
  • Additional Information: The unit has a recent expansion to 36 beds, offers a dynamic environment with modern equipment such as traction, external fixators, halos, gait belts, and continuous pulse oximetry. Staff rotate through every third weekend, with potential for every other. Employees utilize mobile communication tools like mobile heartbeat (iMobile) for efficient team communication and patient privacy. The unit is part of a busy Level 2 trauma center with a highly engaged team and low RN turnover.
