Travel Nursing Job Details
- Location: Plymouth, Massachusetts
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $3,000–$3,160
- Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract
- Start Date: November 2, 2026
- End Date: January 30, 2027
- Schedule: 40 hours per week
- Shift Duration: 10-hour day shifts, 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
- Call Requirement: Approximately two call shifts per month
- Guaranteed Hours: 72 hours biweekly, excluding call hours worked
- Float Requirement: None indicated
- Time-Off Requests: Requests should be submitted with the application; no more than three consecutive days may be approved
Operating Room Registered Nurse Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- At least 1 year of recent Operating Room (OR) nursing experience
- Recent travel nursing experience required
- Strong orthopedic nursing experience required, including orthopedic trauma and general surgery
- Neuro, thoracic, ENT, plastic, podiatry, urology, vascular, or other multispecialty operating room experience is highly valued
- Demonstrated knowledge of aseptic technique, sterile surgical practice, infection prevention, and perioperative safety
- Proficiency operating complex surgical equipment, including endoscopic and laser equipment
- Successful completion of required dysrhythmia/ECG and medication assessments before assignment acceptance; a minimum score of 85% is required
- Seasonal influenza vaccination required before start; approved medical exemptions may be considered
- Travel clinicians must reside more than 50 miles from the assignment location
Operating Room RN Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care throughout the perioperative experience
- Prepare operating rooms, equipment, supplies, and patients for surgical procedures
- Provide circulating and/or scrub support according to department needs and demonstrated competency
- Support orthopedic trauma, general surgery, and other multispecialty surgical cases
- Maintain strict adherence to aseptic technique, infection prevention standards, and surgical safety protocols
- Operate and troubleshoot complex surgical equipment during procedures
- Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, surgical technologists, and the broader perioperative team
- Accurately document patient care, counts, medications, specimens, and procedural activities
- Participate in scheduled call coverage and respond promptly to urgent surgical needs
