Travel Nursing Job Details

  • Healthcare Setting: On-site Operating Room

  • Assignment Duration: 16 weeks, ending February 18, 2027
  • Schedule: 40 hours per week
  • Shift: 10-hour day shifts beginning at 7:00 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m., or 1:00 p.m.
  • Call Requirement: On-call coverage, including at least one weekend per month, with rotating weekends and holidays
  • Scheduling: No block scheduling; 30-minute report time required
  • Float Requirement: No floating required
  • Interview: Not required

Operating Room Registered Nurse Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Connecticut
  • At least 4–5 years of Operating Room (OR) or combined perioperative nursing experience
  • Required circulating experience; scrub experience preferred
  • Demonstrated independent circulating experience with orthopedic, spine, and neurological procedures
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current ACLS certification
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification or completion as required
  • Ability to participate in rotating call, weekend, holiday, and additional coverage assignments as needed

Operating Room Registered Nurse Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, efficient, and evidence-based nursing care throughout the perioperative process
  • Independently circulate surgical cases while maintaining patient safety and adherence to operating room standards
  • Support orthopedic, spine, and neurological surgical procedures
  • Complete preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative nursing responsibilities
  • Coordinate care with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, surgical technologists, and other members of the perioperative team
  • Verify patient identification, procedure, surgical site, equipment, supplies, and required documentation
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and communicate clear handoff reports
  • Participate in the rotating call pool and provide additional coverage as needed to support operating room operations
