Job Summary
Operating Room (OR) specialist in a Level I trauma center located in an acute care hospital. This role involves working within a high-volume surgical environment, primarily focused on general surgery, trauma, orthopedics, neurology, plastics, and urology cases. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to complex surgical procedures in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Job Details

  • Shift: Days, 12-hour shifts, minimum 48 hours per week, starting 10/12/2026 through 01/11/2027.
  • Required Qualifications: 2.5 years of experience in the operating room with general, trauma, orthopedics, neurology, plastics, and urology case skills. Active Illinois license or in the application process, BLS certification required, CNOR preferred.
  • Responsibilities include supporting various surgical procedures across service lines, ensuring infection control, administering blood products, and adhering to universal protocols.
  • Travel experience is required.
  • Certifications required at submission include BLS; CNOR is preferred.
  • Schedule: Days, 12-hour shifts, with one weekend shift per month, and on-call duties once per week.
  • Additional requirements include experience with laparoscopic assisted cases, trauma, organ donation, and proficiency with necessary surgical equipment and instrumentation.
  • Candidate must have worked within surgical specialties listed, including general surgery, orthopedics, neurology, plastics, and urology, with specific procedural expertise.
  • Must have an active IL license or be in process prior to start.
  • Must submit properly completed documentation, including SSN and DOB, and be available for interview within specified windows.
