- Weekly Hours: 40 hours per week
- Shift Duration: 8 hours
- Shift Schedule: Rotating days, mids, and nights with call coverage
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,700 - $2,840
- Charting System: Epic
- Call Requirements: Approximately once per week; every 3rd to 4th weekend; holiday call as assigned
- Orientation: 1 week unit orientation
Job Requirements
- Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
- Minimum of 3 years of operating room nursing experience
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association
- Ability to scrub as required in the operating room
- Experience supporting a broad range of surgical cases, including general, GYN, urology, plastics, robotics, neuro, ortho, spine, EENT, and cardiothoracic procedures
- Strong teamwork, communication, and adaptability in a fast-paced surgical environment
- Willingness to participate in call coverage and rotating shifts
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care in a busy operating room environment
- Assist with circulating and scrub responsibilities across multiple surgical specialties
- Prepare patients, instruments, and procedure rooms for a variety of surgical cases
- Collaborate with surgeons, surgical technologists, charge staff, and the broader care team to support efficient case flow
- Monitor patient status throughout the perioperative process and respond appropriately to changes in condition
- Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and follow established clinical and safety protocols
- Support call coverage and help ensure smooth operations during evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Contribute to a professional, patient-centered environment focused on quality, safety, and teamwork
