Voca Healthcare is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Waterbury, Connecticut.

Job Description & Requirements

OR RN / Surgical Services Travel Assignment

Shift: Days | 40 hrs/week

  • 4x10s (6:45 AM - 5:15 PM) or 5x8s (6:45 AM - 3:15 PM)
  • Every 3rd weekend required
  • Call: 1 weekday per week + 1 weekend per month (24 hrs Sat/Sun)

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year OR RN experience
  • Travel experience required
  • First-time travelers not accepted
  • Cerner charting experience required
  • Trauma Level II experience required
  • Trauma Level I and Charge Nurse experience preferred
  • BLS required; ACLS preferred
  • Omnicell medication system experience preferred

Surgical Experience Needed

Candidates should have strong circulating/scrub experience in:

  • General Surgery
  • Orthopedics/Spine
  • Trauma
  • Total Joints
  • Gynecology
  • Robotic Surgery (Da Vinci Xi)
  • Laparoscopic Procedures
  • Urology
  • Gastrointestinal Surgery

Common cases include: Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, Colon Resection, Hernia Repair, Hysterectomy, Spinal Fusion, Laminectomy/Discectomy, ORIF/Fracture Repair, Carpal Tunnel Release, Mastectomy, Total Joint Replacement, Robotic GI/GYN/Urology procedures, and trauma cases.

  • Candidates residing within 75 miles are considered local and must be identified at submission.
  • Local candidates accepted at a bill rate reduction.
  • Allied positions: no local candidates accepted.

Low submission volume - excellent opportunity for experienced OR travelers.
